The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) is a membership-based, non-profit organization committed to the promotion and recognition of Canadian country music. Each year, the CCMA honours its members who have excelled during the past year with a Canadian Country Music Association Award. CCMA Awards are presented each fall during Country Music Week. This year, fans can vote from 5 selected finalists to have their favourite artist take home the Fan’s Choice Award.
Angry Bytes provided the CCMA with an easily accessible and trustworthy voting platform, enabling a clear way to collect votes and process the outcome.
From the 12th of July until one hour into the live stream on September 10th fans could vote through the main website. As an additional feature, fans could cast their votes with the use of hashtags through Twitter and Facebook in the week before voting closed.
With ABC Manager, we made it possible for our customer to manage unique votes, tweets, and retweets and get valuable real time insights. Our custom built voting tool, powered by our rock solid ABC Manager front- and backend API, made sure the results from all channels were collected orderly so one clear outcome could be presented during the show.
With the last votes still coming in during the first hour of the live stream, the contest resulted in a staggering total of 452,850 cast votes. Dean Brody was crowned the winner of the prestigious Fan's Choice Award, turning the event into a big success.
